2006 U.S. National Championship

Saint Paul plays host to this year’s Visa Championship from August 16th-19th.  It’s been nearly 20 years since the last time Minnesota has hosted the National Championship.  As the date nears, GRGA will be supplying more information and travel options for members interested in attending.  With the 2008 Summer Olympics only 2 years away, this event promises to showcase many future Olympians and possibly the next Carly Patterson or Mary Lou Retton.

Text Box: GRGA Renewal Fee

This April, the $15 annual renewal fee is due to GRGA.  This fee covers the cost of insurance, mailings and handouts for the year.  As an incentive to pay this fee on time, GRGA will distribute a valuable coupon sheet to all members paying the fee on or before April 1st.  This coupon sheet includes free passes to open gyms and discounts on birthday parties, leotards and pro shop items.  All new members joining in 2006 are exempt from this fee until April of 2007 and are also eligible for this free coupon sheet for paying the registration fee.  Coupon sheets are available at the front desk.

Winter Weather Policy and Make-up Classes

GRGA wants to remind its members that gymnastics and dance classes are only canceled when school is canceled due to inclement weather.  GRGA classes are NOT canceled for other no-school days.  Due to the difficulty of re-scheduling classes, GRGA has found it necessary to hold classes as scheduled.  Please remember that GRGA allows two make-up classes per session when advance notice is given of the missed class and the planned make-up class.   Open gym will now be an option for making up missed classes. Please respect our need to properly staff and supervise the facility by allowing us advance notice of your intent to attend a make-up class.

Text Box: Spring Holiday

GRGA will be closed on April 9th-April 15th for a spring holiday.  As with all sessions, April will still be four weeks long and will resume as normal the following week.

2006 Dates To Know

Please grab a “2006 Dates to Know” hand out from the table in the lobby.  GRGA has mapped out the calendar year with planned breaks and scheduled events.  Please keep this schedule as a handy reference throughout 2006.  Additional dates to know, such as added events, will be posted in the gym and in future newsletters.

Text Box: Beef Stick Fundraiser

We now have beef sticks available for families who wish to fundraise.  Fundraising is open to gymnasts of all levels and money raised will be placed into an account for each participant.  Funds may be used to offset the cost of competition but may not be used for monthly tuition or pro-shop items.  If interested, you may pick up boxes of beef sticks at the front desk.
